(Karl Lisch, 20th century, Austrian ophthalmologist), a lesion of the iris that is one of the three stigmata of neurofibromatosis. The nodule may be a neurofibroma arising from peripheral schwannian elements or melanocytic hamartomas of neural crest origin. The Lisch nodule may be located superficially or deep within the stroma of the iris.
